Jared makes it sound so simple to get a project funded and done in NYC. But in reality the NYC approval process is a nightmare and imposes regulations (is:new fire code requires a 6 foot path from the front to the rear of a
roof) that are now threatening to make adaquate systems almost impossible for the ubiquitous rowhouse. If Bloomberg was so in favor of renewable energy in the city he would ensure that the process was more friendly and appropriate to allowing the roofs of smaller buildings to be solarized. Instead he uses political self serving rhetoric.

Elaine,
I suggest you try calling someone at Mercury Solar Systems to see if they have worked with green builders in your area. Alternatively, you could try contacting someone at the NJ Office of Clean Energy. They might keep a list of green builders they have worked with.

thanks for your comment,

I live in New Jersey and am looking for a residential builder in Ocean County willing to work with us on incorporating solar and other green building options in a new, smaller ( approx. 2000 sq ft. ) home . It's like finding the proverbial needle in the haystack.
Any ideas on how to find small builders interested in green building in NJ?
